I love that my work allows me to interact with our patients every time they visit. Getting to know them, seeing their smiles and oral health improve, and watching their self-esteem grow by leaps and bounds, is amazing! My role in the office is to help our patients with their insurance questions, make phone calls to confirm appointments, answer our phones, schedule appointments, and best of all, greet and talk with our patients.
I truly smile all day and am in a good mood when I go home to my husband Dean and our two children. Our family is rounded-out by a cat and a black lab. I keep busy when not at work, managing my daughter’s competitive skating activities, serving as a team leader for the March of Dimes, and volunteering for the Goulbourn skating club. I also enjoy spending time at our cottage, reading for my book club, and scrapbooking.
My work means that I get to know each of our patients, and I enjoy that aspect of my job. I greet patients when they come into our practice, assist them with insurance matters, answer our phones, reply to emails, confirm appointments, and handle financials. I keep busy, but I’m always available for a quick chat and to check in to make sure that our patients are happy and comfortable.
In my home life, I live with my husband Derek, and my son and daughter. I spend a lot of time attending and supporting my children’s extra-curricular activities and volunteering at their school. When I have the time, I like to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking.
Certified Dental Assistant, Level 2
My work allows me to follow our patients throughout their treatment process, watching their self-confidence grow as their new, healthy smile develops. Along the way, I get to know these patients as friends and look forward to their visits. Our patients are the best, and they never fail to make me smile! Among my duties are to assist Dr. Lin during periodontal consultations and procedures, and provide post-operative instructions, so the patients know just what to do.
My work is enjoyable and when I go home at night, I know we’ve made a difference in the lives of those we care for. My personal life revolves around my husband Ian, and my two children. I enjoy quilting and sewing, love reading a good book, and going for bikes rides, too. I am also an active volunteer with my church youth group.
Certified Dental Assistant, Level 2
When I am with patients, I always want them to know how important they are. I try to understand their individual needs and make sure that they are treated in the way that they are most comfortable, every time. I wear many hats here in the office, including assisting Dr. Tan, working at the front desk, handling office promotions, and ordering our dental supplies.
When I go home, it’s to my wonderful family, including my husband, two sons, and daughter. Our lives are shared with two dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and a guinea pig, too! We live on a hobby farm with an apple orchard, so I spend a lot of time outside. In my leisure time, I love to read, knit, garden, camp, kayak, swim, or go horseback riding.
Registered Dental Hygienist, Periodontics
I enjoy getting to know my patients, their experiences, and their interests. I also like to empower them with knowledge, in order to build trust. Most of my work involves working with our patients, providing supportive periodontal care. I also assist with instrument sterilization and whatever else needs to be done, because we are a team and we work together to care for our patients.
I love my work, and when I go home to my high-school sweetheart, to whom I’ve been married for more than 20 years, it is with a smile on my face. We have a full household, including a dog, cats, and pet rats. I keep busy rollerblading with my dog, and reading for enjoyment, as well as professional development, camping, and meeting friends for coffee and conversation.
Registered Dental Hygienist, Orthodontics
I grew up in Peterborough and recently moved to Ottawa. I love working with all of our orthodontic patients and especially enjoy seeing the transormations that occur over the course of orthodontic treatment. I feel very fortunate to work in such a fantastic environment with a professional and freindly team that provides exceptional care to our patients.
On the personal side, I live with my husband, Joel, enjoy working out and have a love for Nutella!
